About, tips and FAQ

About the game

Pixel Sandbox is an elements simulator in your browser. Paint sand, water, stone, plants, lava, fire, oil, ice and steam and watch them interact.

Water puts out fire and turns to steam, lava cools into stone, fire ignites oil, ice melts and plants spread. No goals and no losing — just experiments.

The sandbox is free and runs in the browser on desktop and mobile.

Tips

  • Build a stone bowl, fill it with water, then pour lava on top.
  • Oil burns for a long time — draw a fuse with it and light one end.
  • Plants grow from water: water a row of plants and watch them climb.
  • Change the brush size: big for filling, small for details.
